Rivers CP Commissions New Facilities At Eleme Command
River State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, has commissioned new facilities at Eleme Area Command.
Eboka, who was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dep Oladimeje, while commissioning the facilities in Eleme in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, commended the Eleme Area Commander for achieving much in a short time.
Eboka described Eleme Area Command as one of the areas with low crime rate in the state and urged them to maintain the tempo.
Also speaking, Eleme Area Commander, ACP Martins Nwogoh, said the successful commissioning of the new facilities by the CP happened to be one of his desired objectives.
Nwogoh said the collaboration among stakeholders in the command encouraged him.
The Eleme Area commander explained that as part of measures to reduce crime when he resumed duty in 2017, he engaged the community through campaign against crime.
The campaign took him to town hall meetings with stakeholders, where he sought their support to preach against crime.
He expressed joy that today, crime rate in Eleme had reduced.
Nwogoh specially commended the Paramount Ruler of Alesa Town, Emere Emperor Nkpe, for his untiring effort toward ensuring timely commissioning of the newly installed facilities at the command.
Facilities commissioned at the area command included among room, four standard cells, counter unit, perimeter fencing, toilet facilities, security post among others.
It would be recalled that Eleme Area Command came on board since 2017 and till date has been staying in a temporary place donated by the council authorities.
