Pray To Liberate People In Spiritual Captivity, Banigo Tells Christians
The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has urged Christians in the state to pray to liberate people in spiritual captivity.
Banigo stated this during a courtesy visit by the Evangelical Fellowship in Anglican Communion (EFAC) at the Government House in Port Harcourt, last Friday.
According to the deputy governor, “even in the church, so many people are in captivity, so many people are in the church but they are also in another set up, they are compromising their faith”.
Banigo, who commended EFAC for its commitment in the building and re-energising of spirituality in the Niger Delta Diocese, through evangelism, education and other outreach programmes, urged them to be focused in winning more souls for Christ.
“We all know that Jesus is just waiting for us to complete this work of evangelism and missions. That is what His second coming is waiting for: until we reach every nook and cranny, we are the ones keeping Him from coming, and we know He shall come very soon.
“I want to really congratulate you for your great efforts, and pray that you continue to do more, you continue to reach out and evangelise our communities.
“There are so many of them in our communities who are hungry, looking for the word of God, wanting to hear the word, wanting to receive the word, by faith. How can they do it when there is nobody to tell them and show them the way, your work is so important”, she stressed.
Banigo, who expressed delight with the Ambassador for Jesus Christ Award she received from EFAC, said she would continue to partner with EFAC and the body of Christ to propagate the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Diocesan Chaplain, Ven John Ubulom, had earlier informed the deputy governor that they were at the Government House to express appreciation to her, for her magnanimity, contribution and support towards the work of God, especially in the area of evangelism, missions, church projects, prayers and spirituality in the Anglican Communion.
