Sports Commissioner Assures Staff Of Improved Welfare

The Rivers State commissioner for Sports, Hon Boma Iyaye said he has placed welfare of staff in his ministry at the front burner of his administration for the overall growth and development.
Hon, Iyaye made the assertion recently in an interactive session held with his staff at the conference hall of the ministry.
He noted that only a committed workforce could move the ministry forward, adding that time has come when staff should be motivated to achieve the desired aspiration of the state government.
“As we have always done in the past we will leverage on what we have, to make sure that workers welfare is taken seriously” Iyaye said.
The commissioner charged staffers to see one another as one committed family working for the overall interest of the state, not minding their ethnic backgrounds.
Speaking at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Honour Sirawoo called for synergy and commitment on the part of every staff of the ministry, warning that act of truancy would not be entertained, because it will be a barrier to the development of any institution.
The permanent secretary, pledges to provide all necessary tools to enable staffers to work effectively and efficiently, saying that he can only associate himself with staff that is committed to his or her duties.
Also speaking, the director of Administration of the ministry, Sukariba Dokubo, on behalf of the ministry, felicitated with the commissioner and permanent secretary on their appointment.
She further promised staff her commitment and promised to work with them to achieve enviable heights.
