Abductors Of Senator Sekibo’s Wife Bag Life Imprisonment

Two suspected kidnappers arrested in connection with the abduction, of the wife of Senator George Sekibo in March, 2012 were yesterday sentenced to life imprisonment without option of fine.
The suspects, whose names are Abel Okoro and Innocent Wilson were found guilty of conspiracy in the kidnapping of Mrs Sekibo and two other women who were abducted along East-West Road in Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to the judgement of Justice E. N. Thompson of Port Harcourt High Court, the suspected kidnappers were unable to convince the court that they have no hands in the kidnapping of the Senator’s wife in the state.
He ruled that the two suspected kidnappers are immediately sentenced to life imprisonment to serve as deterrent to others, adding that the prosecutor has proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.
One of the convicts, Mr Innocent Wilson wept and slumped as he sighted his son crying in the court.
Meanwhile, effort to reach both Senator Sekibo and his wife for reactions proved abortive as their contacts could not be accessed as at the time of this report.
