Edo PDP Accuses Govt Of Victimising, Intimidating Members
Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last Wednesday raised alarm over what it described as “unabated harassment, intimidation and victimisation of its members in the state by the state government, especially the recent decampees from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The PDP in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Chris Osa Nehikhare, stated that it has come to the party’s notice and realisation that Edo State government has continued to harass, intimidate and victimise the party members, especially those that recently decamped from APC.
It said that one of the major target of the state government is Chief Osamede Adun, a foremost transporter, businessman and entrepreneur who rejoined PDP in the last eight months and has been a victim of victimisation, harassment and intimidation.
His businesses, the statement alleged had been singled out for all sorts of government citation and brute implementation of unlawful orders.
According to the statement, some of the incidents that Chief Adun has had to put up within the last few months included”Demolition of Chief Osamede Adun’s Shopping Mall on Mission Road, and forcefully turned it to a parking lot by the state government even when the matter is pending in a competent court with Honourable Justice V.O.A. Oviawe presiding.
The closing down of Bob Izua Borrow Pit located at Ikuenobo/Iguomo Communities, Benin City, owned by Chief Adun.
