Obuah Berates Lulu-Briggs Over Comments Against Wike
Rivers State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the governorship candidate of the Accord Party, Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs over his recent comments against Governor Nyesom Wike.
The state PDP chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah in a statement signed by his media aide, Jerry Needam in Port Harcourt said politics is about new ideas and party ideology.
Recalled that Lulu-Briggs had during a live radio programme in Port Harcourt claimed that he has not seen any project executed by the Wike led administration in the state since he came into office.
But Obuah said he would be willing to host the AC governorship candidate on a guided tour of some landmark projects executed by the incumbent governor across the state, saying such remark could only be coming from a desperate office seeker with blurred vision, a stranger or outright liar.
The statement reads, “Politics is all about new ideas and party ideology and far from denying obvious facts or refusing to acknowledge established facts in order to score a cheap political point which is a mark of a desperation.”
He said Lulu-Briggs need to be honest and properly guided by his instigators to avoid such goof and public disgrace as stirred by the laughable statement of having not seen any project done by Governor Wike who has won enviable awards nationally and internationally because of his unprecedented infrastructural achievements in the State.
“We have far gone beyond this kind of infantile statements to impress political benefactors, otherwise how could a supposed seeker to the office of Governor of Rivers State claim he has not seen anything done by the person he wants to replace.
“Has Dumo Lulu-Briggs even thought of finding out how the ring roads and improved waterways, modern educational institutions, renovated and newly reconstructed hospitals and health centers, functional institutions like the judiciary, House of Assembly, Sports, entertainment parks and other infrastructural developments came about and what was the level of the State economy when his former All Progressives Congress (APC) god father Rotimi Amaechi was at the helm of affairs?”
The state PDP chairman hopes that Lulu-Briggs will accept the invitation for the guided tour, saying he (Obuah) is sure that the former will abandon his governorship dream and join the PDP campaign crew as Governor Wike’s co-ordinator in his neighbourhood.

LP Crisis: Ex-NWC Member Dumps Dumps Abure Faction
Mr Ojukwu, who recently returned to the interim National Working Committee led by Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, noted that the party had 34 elected members in the House of Representatives, eight Senators, and 80 members at the state Houses of Assembly after the 2023 general elections.
“Now we lost all of them,” he said. “I don’t think we have as many as five members in the National Assembly.”
The former national officer of the LP talked to journalists in Abuja and said he chose to join the caretaker committee led by Senator Nenadi-Usman because they are now the officially recognized leaders of the Party.
“I chose to work with the caretaker committee to help save the Labour Party, for the benefit of the party. I also want to use this chance to ask my colleagues at the national, state, and local government levels to come together and help rebuild our party.
“Another election is around the corner. We lost everything we have. They have left to other political parties. So I’ll reach out to all my friends in the other group to get together and work on making this party stronger again.
“The caretaker committee has formed a reconciliation committee. Let’s come together and talk so that we can restore the first opposition political party in Nigeria.”
Mr Ojukwu, who was part of the Julius Abure’s group, said there are no more factions in the LP.
He added, “There is a court ruling, and since it is valid, the right people are in the correct positions.”
He urged Barr Abure and others to drop the legal cases they have filed because they are not helping the party.
“Litigations are killing political parties”, he said. “They’ve seen many political parties disappear because of legal battles, and the Labor Party is losing support every day, which makes me feel sad.”
Mr Ojukwu said he did not think joining the Senator Nenadi-Usman’s NWC was a betrayal of the Abure group, describing himself as “the oxygen” of that faction.
“I’m with this group because of the verdict. But I never betrayed anybody. Rather, I was betrayed,” he added.
