2019: HOS, PDP Chief Warn Against Violence
The Rivers State Head of Service, Barr. Rufus Godwins has warned youths in the state against violence and election malpractices in the forthcoming general election in the State.
Godwins gave the warning last Saturday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Units Campaign held in Unit 5, Egwuebe, Asarama in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Head of Service urged youths in the area not to allow themselves to be used as tools of violence by greedy politicians during the polls.
“Election time soon come, please don’t allow any politician to hire you for a dirty job. In Andoni, we know that our votes are our developments and the only party that recognises Andoni people in terms of development and human capacity building is PDP.
“ Therefore, don’t waste your time and your precious life for anybody that won’t remember you when he gets to the post”, he advised.
Godwins urged the youths to strive hard to attain good life, reminding them that youths were the future leaders and should plan their lives for a brighter tomorrow.
The Head of Service who reassured that there would be massive employment soon in the state, appealed to the people of the area to support the re-election of Governor Nyesom Wike for a better deal for the people of the area.
He said the administration of Governor Wike has a lot of packages to unveil for the development of Andoni.
Also addressing PDP supports at his unit, the Deputy Chairman of PDP in the state, Charles Awortu said the party is committed to end hunger and suffering brought by APC-led government in the country.
