PDP Chieftain Dismisses Rivers APC Chairman’s Claim
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Darlington Orji has dismissed claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in the state Ojukaye Flagg-Amachree that the governor, Chief Nyesom Wike bribed the defected APC law makers with N3.2billion to dump the party.
Orji wondered if Governor Wike also bribed the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom and the Senate President together with some other governors, whom he stated that their defection was imminent.
The PDP chieftain maintained that the defection followed the alleged failure of the APC- led Federal Government to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.
He noted that the APC- led Federal Government since inception had spelt doom on the people of Nigeria, adding that the administration initially perceived would lead Nigerians to their promise land, had led them into total hardship and sufferings.
He stated that the cost of food stuff in the markets instead of reducing in price had skyrocketed, thereby bringing untold hardship upon the people and even the market traders.
“The sufferings of Nigerians today, the hardship we are facing today, is noticed by all. The market women and the food stuff in the market will not respect APC or PDP.
Orji stressed that the people that trusted the APC led-administration had braced up with the current trends in the PDP, adding that this was their reasons for defection to the PDP and not any bribe.
“What is happening is glaring because people hearken to the calls of their people that the Federal Government was built on falsehood, propaganda and too many things they told Nigerians they were going to do, not even one has been achieved and the result is that people are deserting their party”, Orji added.
He charged all the defectors never to lose focus, adding that only PDP as a party had stood the test of time in the country since it was formed.
