NUJ Consoles RSG Over Aguma’s Death
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council has commiserated with the government and people of Rivers State over the demise of the State Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Emmanuel Chinwe Aguma (SAN).
The late legal icon passed on last Friday at a London hospital after a brief illness.
A statement signed by the State Chairman of NUJ, Stanley Job Stanley and Secretary, Ike Wigodo described Hon. Aguma’s death as shocking, and an irreparable loss to Rivers State.
The NUJ noted that the late Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice was one of the best legal minds that the Rivers State has ever produced.
According to the statement, “Hon. Aguma’s death was shocking to us in NUJ. The late legal luminary was one of the finest legal minds in Rivers State, and indeed, in Nigeria.
“Besides, he was a man who gave his best to Rivers State and devoted most part of his life to the rule of law and service of humanity.
“In view of the huge loss and the big vacuum his death has created in the State, the Rivers State Council of NUJ commiserates with the Government and people of Rivers State, most especially Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Aguma family and the entire Rebisi Kingdom.
“We pray God to give the State and in particular, the deceased’s family, the fortitude to bear the loss of the legal icon”.
