NAFEST 2018 Technical Committee Inspects Facilities In PH
The Technical Committee of the National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST) presently meeting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, has undertaken a tour of various projects embarked upon and commissioned by the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
The committee members from 31 states across the country would also inspect the venues earmarked for the NAFEST Rivers 2018 scheduled for October during the facility tour.
A statement by the Chairman of the Publicity Sub-Committee of NAFEST Rivers 2018, Barrister Emma Okah, said this was the first time the National Technical Committee meeting of festival was recording such a massive attendance in recent times.
The various states, according to Emma Okah, who is also the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, are represented by their commissioners for culture and tourism, directors of arts councils and heads of Culture and History Bureau.
Okah also expressed satisfaction with the preparedness of the Rivers State Government for the weeklong cultural fiesta.
The technical committee meeting declared open, Tuesday by Governor Nyesom Wike, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo, ended, yesterday while the delegates would depart, today. Wike, during the meeting, reiterated the preparedness of the state government to make the 2018 NAFEST, being hosted by the state, a memorable one.
