Atiku Promises Imolites Restructuring
A frontline presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has carried his campaign to Owerri, the capital of Imo State, in line with his on-going state sensitisation tour for the realization of his ambition in 2019, with a promise to restructure the country if elected.
The former vice president, who arrived the party office at about 2:45pm in company of some of his campaign members, was received by the state executive led by the Chairman, Barrister Charles Babatunde Ezekwem.
In his speech, Atiku thanked the PDP faithful for coming out en mass to welcome him, pointing out that Imo State was known to be a PDP state, irrespective of the previous happenings that eventually led to the shift of baton to APC.
He criticised the government of President Muhammadu Buhari for worsening the plight of the unemployed Nigerians through his regular unfulfilled job creation promises, and affirmed that such an undesirable act must stop, if given power.
According to Atiku, the unemployment rate stood at about 12million irrespective of the assurances from the ruling government of creating 3,000,000 jobs annually for the Nigerian youth.
He said: “The ruling government has ended up sacking more workers than expected, nepotism is the order of the day, killings and kidnappings are on the increase, therefore, Nigerians must be prepared to take their country back from APC in 2019”.
