APC Decampee Lauds Wike, PDP
One of the over 8,000 defectors from the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Rivers State to the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), at the Sharks stadium in Port Harcourt last Thursday, Hon. Nickolas Igbogidi, has commended Governor Nyesom Wike for his compassion and warm reception accorded the decampees.
Igbogidi, former councillor from Ahoada – East Local Government Area of Rivers State, who was speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt expressed happiness “ for the opportunity given to them to dump the sinking APC ship and be part of the aggressive, dynamic and organised PDP family”.
The former lawmaker was full of praises for PDP Chairman in the state, Bro. Felix Obuah, for a well organised reception ceremony, describing him as a tested political party administrator , while promising that the new PDP members will continue to be loyal and dedicated to the party.
The Ahoada – East political activist was also full of praises for the former Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, for his commitment and dedication to ensuring that the opposition to the Wike administration, as well as the PDP was reduced to the barest minimum in the next two years.
He expressed joy that former APC members from Ahoada – East were the first to embrace Emeh’s call for defection from APC to PDP, when he led a group of over 1200 persons to the Port Harcourt residence of the former commissioner for transport in Rivers State.
His words: ” The reception we got, and the attention to details we received from the Ikwerre chief gave us the indication that the journey from APC to PDP will not be in vain. We are happy that, at the end of the day, the dream of fulfilling our political aspirations is being realised.
It would be recalled that Thursday, April 13, 2017 witnessed a landmark achievement by the PDP, when for the first time in the history of political defections in Nigeria, a whopping number of over 8,000 former APC members crossed over and pitched their tents with the PDP at the Sharks Stadium, which was filled to capacity, heralding the collapse of APC in Rivers State.
