Gov Restates RSG’s Support For The Church
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has restated the resolve of his administration to continue to support the church in view of its crucial role towards the enthronement of a peaceful and morally upright society.
Wike, who said this yesterday at a special life transforming Sservice of Kingdom Life Gospel Church, Rumueme, Port Harcourt, explained that enemies of the state would have destroyed it, if not for the prayers and intercessions by the body of Christ.
Represented by his Deputy, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo, the governor noted that no amount of support by his administration to the church should be regarded as too much, stressing that “investment in the work of God brings about peace and development of the society.”
He said as a child of favour from God, he would dissipate his energies towards evolving the policies and programmes that God has mandated him to do for the people of the state under the New Rivers Vision.
Wike called on the people to believe in the Word of God to achieve prosperity, and commended members of the Kingdom Life Gospel Church for standing solidly behind the presiding bishop and his dear wife.
Earlier in his exhortation, the Presiding Bishop of Kingdom Life Gospel Church, Bishop Victor Uzosike, enjoined believers to always look up to God for solution to their problems.
Uzosike, who spoke on the topic, “Greater Light”, said it was only when believers pray and invoke the greater light of God in any unpleasant situation that they find greater light manifest upon their lives.
Highlights of the life transforming service were prayers for Governor Nyesom Wike, his Deputy, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo, members of his cabinet, Rivers State and a peaceful re-run election come December 10, 2016.
