Muslim Pilgrims Board Urges Support For Wike
The Chairman, Rivers
State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Mustapha Jackrich, has called on Kalabaris to support the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, in his effort to build a peaceful state that would promote development.
Jackrich, made the call when the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI), Asari-Toru Local Government Area chapter paid him a solidarity visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
The State Chairman of Muslim Pilgrims Board said the governor’s effort in building a peaceful state must be supported by everybody, adding that no society can develop in an atmosphere of acrimony and crisis.
He condemned what he described as the pull him down syndrome among politicians, adding that people should learn to encourage and support those in leadership positions.
According to him, greed and selfishness were the causes for various crises in the society, adding that all hands must be on deck to build a viable Asalga and Rivers State.
Jackrich urged the people of the area to come together for development to thrive, adding that when they work together and speak with one voice, things would start working for the people.
He decried the level of destruction of property in the area, adding that Asalgans were noted for peace and love.
“We should bring peace to the area, it is a campaign we must all get involved in. The change must begin with all of us. We must work for the development of the area”, Jackrich said.
He assured the groups of his support, and thanked them for the visit.
Earlier, the leader of the two groups, Chief Odiari C. Princewill, had said they were in his office to appreciate the governor for appointing their son as the Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, and assured him of their total support.
