ICT Expert Wants Nigerians To Leverage On Data Services

of Computer Science, University of Ibadan, Prof. Olufade Onifade, said Nigerians should imbibe the use of data science to gain market advantages in their various business transactions.
Onifade told newsmen on Tuesday that data was an asset that could not be kept by the side but should be used for competitive advantage.
“Nigeria should leverage on data for the country’s digital economic growth.
“People should maximise the potential advantage of data collection to solve future problems in their organisations and the country.
“This will guarantee the country’s economic growth both presently and in the nearest.
“Data collection will help the country to predict its future occurrence in the economy and other important sectors,” Onifade said. The professor urged youths to have the mind of being the best in the world in innovation in ICT to create jobs instead of looking for job. The don advised the youths to be skillful in job creation and in using ICT to take the country to the next level. He appealed to the government to partner with other ICT stakeholders to create a large ecosystem to promote digital economy through skill acquisition ICT among the youths.
Onifade said that Nigeria should be ready to make an impact to bring change to the world through digital economy. He said that skills should be developed in ICT to encourage positive change in business transactions and delivery. According to him, the e-government is not negotiable as every individual will contribute positively in the country’s economic growth.
Olufade said that systematic use of information on mobile phones through social media and other devices to attract customers would increase business revenue at the same time boost economic growth.

														“The approved selling prices are as follows: One-bedroom semi-detached bungalow, N8.5 million; two-bedroom semi-detached bungalow: N11.5 million and three-bedroom semi-detached bungalow, N12.5 million,” the statement added.
Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, stated that priority in the allocation of the housing units would be given to low and middle-income earners, civil servants at all levels of government, employees in the organised private sector with verifiable sources of income, and Nigerians in the Diaspora who wish to own homes in the country.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, explained that several payment options have been provided to make the houses affordable and flexible. These include outright (full) payment, mortgage, rent-to-own scheme, and installment payment plans.
The ministry further announced that the sale of the completed housing units across the northern and southern regions will soon commence.
“Applications can be made through the Renewed Hope Housing online portal at www.renewedhopehomes.fmhud.
The ministry, however, clarified that the approved prices apply strictly to the Renewed Hope Housing Estates which are funded through the ministry’s budgetary allocation, as against the Renewed Hope Cities in Karsana Abuja, Janguza Kano, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos which are being funded through a Public Private Partnership (PPP).
