“It will also improve socio-economic lifestyle of the people, boost government activities and enhance foreign exchange earnings,” he said. The managing director said the organisation had offered more than 50 training slots to veterinarians and animal producers in parts of the country.
“We are still making effort to train more farmers in Oyo, Sokoto, Owerri and Benue on the use of the equipment.
“If we have the technologies here, we will not be importing animal products.’’
Olagbaju said the organisation would organize sensitisation and demonstration programmes for animal producers in the six geopolitical zones to enhance use of the technologies.
He urged the government, organisations and individuals to take advantage of the opportunity to invest in the project.
“We are already doing well but we still need partners to make Nigeria’s livestock sector the best in Africa.
“The organisation also helps in building local capacity with modern animal reproduction technologies.’’
The Tide reports that the marchines include Draminski Portable Ultrasound Scanner for rapid animal reproduction and Draminski pregnancy detector for small animals.
Others include Draminski Mastitis detector for detecting mastitis disease, Minitube Electro Ejaculator for collection of semen, minitube insemination kits for frozen semen, among others.
