Civil Service School Graduates 27 Confidential Secretaries
The Rivers State Civil
Service Staff Development Centre, Port Harcourt, has graduated 27 confidential secretaries who have successfully completed their courses for a Higher Diploma Certificate.
The Permanent Secretary, Establishment Training and Pension Bureau, Mr. Emmanuel Urang, who presided over the ceremony, described it as very important to the civil service career of the graduands.
Mr. Urang said that the programme would not only enhance their performances in their service, but would also improve their conditions as far as promotions in the service were concerned.
He however urged them and other civil servants in the state not to stop in their educational pursuit, saying there is need to strive and obtain their degrees so as to get to the top of their career.
In his welcome address, the Principal of the centre, Comrade Iwari Goodhead said that the graduands were among students who started their training three to four years ago.
“Today, we are gathered here to celebrate their success story, as they have completed this programme in peace. We say thank God for taking us to this peaceful and joyous end”, he said.
He attributed the delay in their graduation to some “constraints, stressing that all the problems confronting the centre would be properly articulated and presented to the appropriate quarters.
It would be recalled that the 27 graduands were from batches 14 and 15.
