The Tide Dep. Group News Editor Loses Dad
The death has occurred of
a foremost traditional ruler and first University graduate from Ogbakiri clan, Eze Isaac Johnson Orlu-Akwu, aged 95.
A statement issued by his family said the late traditional ruler died on March 26, 2016 at the University of Port Harcourt teaching Hospital (UPTH) after a brief illness.
According to the statement, late Orlu-Akwu was an educationists and had served as Principal in various schools in old Rivers and Imo States as well as Zonal Supervisor of Post Primary Schools in Rivers State.
The statement added that he was until his death a member of Wezina Council of Chiefs, the highest governing body in Ogbakiri clan and also an author of several books.
He is survived by wives and children among whom is the Deputy Group News Editor of The Tide Newspaper, Reward Akwu.
His remains will be buried at his country-home, Okporowo-Ogbakiri, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday, April 30, 2016.
