Wike Urges Politicians To Remain Committed
Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has urged politicians to always remain committed to pro-people ideals for the development of the state.
Speaking during the 50th birthday celebration of immediate past Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engineer Tele Ikuru, Governor Wike said that the state requires consistent and reliable leaders to advance.
He commended the immediate past Deputy Governor for his service to Rivers State over the years. He described Engineer Ikuru as a dependable ally, trusted by all his associates and loved by the people.
He thanked God that Engineer Ikuru has attained the golden age of fifty, saying that the former deputy governor has been blessed by God.
“Let me tell you one thing, I worked with Tele Ikuru and I know him very well. When I was leaving them, I told him that am leaving that my time is up, he encouraged me to stay, I said no. He said my brother take the decision as God has guided you, I thank God he also saw reasons with me, and we all worked together”, Governor Wike stated.
He said: “Let me congratulate you on your attainment of the Golden age of fifty years. God will continue to guide you and your family.
“God will not disappoint you, trust in him, for he is the ultimate giver of position. I would not have been Governor if not God”.
