Rivers SSG Disowns Fraudulent Text Messages
The attention of the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Chief Kenneth Kobani, has been drawn to what he described as criminal circulation of fraudulent text messages by mischievous elements soliciting for financial assistance in his name.
In a statement by his Media Director, Mr. Kio Obomanu, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government urged all members of the public to disregard these criminal text messages and other forms of communication as he has nothing to do with them. “These fraudulent text messages should be disregarded by members of the public, “ he said.
“Chief Kobani is renowned for his spirit of philanthropy; hence, he cannot be associated with seeking for financial assistance under any guise. His traditional title of Mene Demende ( a community philanthropist) defines his public and private life”, the statement said.
The statement advised members of the public to report any number associated with the circulation of these fraudulent communication”, the statement said.
