APC Sensitisation Tour Is Not For Campaign – Feyii

State Government, Mr. George Feyii, has reiterated that the tour by the contract, Mobilization, Voter Education and Monitoring Committees of All Progressive congress (APC) is to sensitize party members, and ascertain membership strength, in the various Local Government Areas and not a campaign tour.
Mr. Feyii, who was presented by Chief (Sir) Alex Wele, made the remarks in Opobo town recently when he led a delegation of the Committees on a sensitization visit, said that the visit would afford the team the opportunity to ascertain the strength of the party and to see visible party structures in the area.
In his speech, the Secretary, contact committee of APC in the state, Godwin Iroawunsi, said “when a people truly desire and demand a change, they can withstand all forms of intimidation and arsenal thrown at them”, adding that “APC is building itself to be formidable to such an extent that it will win delections in 2015 and beyond”.
Mr. Iroawunsi charged all party faithful on the need to increase the numerical strength and support base of the party, calling on all stakeholders and party members to reach out to the people to increase the party strength in their various wards.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Senibo Tonye Epelle, thanked the committee for the visit.
Also speaking at the event, some chieftains of APC in the area, led by a member of the Board of trustees of the party, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, said that Opobo/Nkoro is a strong hold of the APC, saying that the opposition parties do not have a place in the area.
In another development, the CTC Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Council, Hon. Michael Donald Igolima, had given the assurance that the council would partner any agency that was set to sensitize the people of the area on the importance of voters registration.
Hon. Igolima, who made the remarks in his office in Opobo town during the inauguration of the inter-agency committee on publicity said that the event was very key to the political process of the nation.
Earlier, the Resident Electoral Officer of the Independent National electoral Commission, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, said that the committee has been mandated to ensure that residents of the area were properly educated on registration of voers, and the issurance and collection of permanent voters card.
The members of the Committee are” the electoral Officer in the area, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, chief Orientation and Mobilisation Officer of National Orientation Agency in the area, Samuel Archibald, Information Officer of the area, Idanye Oruigoni, Local inspector of NYSC in the area, Mr. Tom-George and Women leader of Opobo, Felicia Pepple.
