Group Rates Amaechi High In Human, Infrastructure Dev
The Progressive Citizens of ONELGA, a socio-political group in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, has rated the administration of Governor Chibuike Amaechi high in human and infrastructural development in the area.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after a tour of the entire Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area to assess the performance of the governor, the group’s Co-ordinator, Mr. Patrick Ijeoma Ofunwa said that the group was satisfied with the people- oriented programmes and the giant developmental strides of the governor.
Ofunwa also said that the group was satisfied that the ONELGA leaders working with the governor are doing their best to ensure that the area is not relegated to the background in the scheme of things.
According to him, the PCO acknowledges the efforts of the state Commissioner for Power, Hon. Austin Nwokocha, and Senator Wilson Ake for their individual and collective support towards the development of the local government area.
He also commended Hon. Lucky Odili and Hon.Gift Nwokocha, representing the people in the Rivers State House of Assembly for joining forces with the governor to bring the dividends of democracy to Rivers people.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the group, Engr. Louis Amua warned those who are fanning the embers of disunity in the area to retrace their steps.
Engr. Amua also frowned at the endorsement of another Ikwerreman for 2015 governorship race by a faceless group in the state, and called for proper political power sharing among the ethnic components of the state.
The Publicity Secretary of the organization, Mr. Tony Odili criticised the duplication of contracts on the dualisation of the Ahoada-Omoku road project being funded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), which is also captured in the Ministry of Works budget for this year.
On his part, Engr. Kingsley Ugwuorah urged the entire people of ONELGA to support Governor Amaechi to do more for the state.
