NSE, Centre To Partner On Engineering Services In Rivers
The Nigerian Society of
Engineers (NSE), Port Harcourt branch has pledged to partner with CADD Centre, on international training organization to improve the quality of engineering services in Rivers State.
Branch Chairman of the Society, Engr. Kombo T. Johnson disclosed this recently in Port Harcourt, during the commissioning of the Port Harcourt office of the centre.
He stressed the need for regular training for members of the engineering profession to enable them render quality services to the society, adding that with the presence of the CADD Centre in Rivers State, engineers in the state would now compete with their counterparts in Lagos and other states across Nigeria.
Also speaking managing Director of Sherman Gray Limited, Engr Abiodun Olunde said that the CADD Centre which came into Nigeria in 2009, had embarked on series of capacity building for different engineers in Nigeria and the West African sub region.
In his speech the General Manager of the CADD Centre Nigeria Mr Vijay Basker said that CADD Centre had the largest single training programme that spanned over 26 years.
Mr Baskar noted that several companies in Nigeria had benefitted from the activities of CADD Centre.
“Many young graduates don’t know how to apply the knowledge learnt in schools. The availability of training institutions will change the way things are done in Nigeria,” he said.
