Man In Court Over Alleged Theft Of Cables, Stabilisers
A 29-year old
unemployed man, who allegedly stole cables and stabilisers valued at N1.51 million, was last Thursday arraigned in Lagos.
The accused, Ibrahim Omotunde, who resides at Idimu area of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing at an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court.
The Prosecutor, ASP Nicholas Atumonye, told the court that the accused committed the offence at about 9.00 p.m. at No. 200, Calvary Bus Stop, Idimu, a suburb of Lagos, on Jan. 30, 2014.
Atumonye alleged that the accused conspired with others, now at large, to burgle the shop of one Mr Francis Ogidi, where they stole cables and stabilisers.
The prosecutor submitted that the offence contravened Sections 285, 385 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused denied the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.B Folami, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties, each in like sum.
Folami adjourned the case till March 5, for further hearing.
