NSC Puts Keshi On W/Cup Alert
Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Gbenga Elegbeye, has urged Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi to redirect his attention towards Nigeria’s preparation for the World Cup, following the teams return from South Africa.
Elegbeye commended the Super Eagles for emerging as the third best team in the just concluded Chan tourney, and urged the Keshi-led technical crew of the national team to prepare themselves better for the World Cup so as to do the nation proud.
“The most important competition in the game is the World Cup and I am using this medium to tell them to put the Chan competition behind them and start full preparations for the World Cup that would commence in Brazil in June,” he said.
“A decent performance in the competition will put Nigerian football in the positive light and also make sports loving Nigerians happy.”
Elegbeye further assured the team of the continued support of the NSC stating that with all hands on deck, the Super Eagles will surpass the expectations of many in this year’s World Cup in Brazil.
