Ogun Urges Speculators To Keep Off Govt Land
Worried by the increas
ing encroachment on its land, the Ogun State Government has warned land speculators, popularly known as ‘Omo Onile’, to desist from such acts.
The Director General, Bureau of Lands and Survey Mr. Adewale Oshinowo, gave the warning during an inspection of the land given to the Lagos State Water Corporation for the second phase of the Adiyan water project in Ifo Local Government area of the state.
The government said in a statement signed by the Information Officer of the bureau, Mr. Ademola Orunbon, that it would no longer fold its arms and allow lawless people to continue to trade in its land.
The statement urged people who were interested in acquiring landed property in the state to patronise government agencies instead of land speculators.
It also stated that residents of New Oke-Aro Estate, Matogun, Ifo Local Government Area, should consult physical planning offices to verify the status of any land they intended to purchase to avert demolition of their properties in the future.
