MD Tasks Govts On Education …Donates 2m Books To Schools
The Managing Director, Auchi MicroFinance Bank Ltd, Mr. Isacc Akaowe, last Thursday urged governments in the country to invest in education in order to guarantee the future of our youth.
Akaowe stated this in Auchi while donating two million notebooks and writing materials to 29 primary schools in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo.
He said that investing in education would go a long way to eradicate poverty in the country.
“Enhancing the future of our children by giving them the best education from the starting point would guarantee nation building and banish poverty.
“We need to invest directly in our children because the future of our country is in the hands of the children,’’ he said.
Akaowe said that the donation was part of the bank’s commitment to improve the educational standard at the primary school level.
According to him, building solid educational advancement at the primary school level is one of the priorities of the bank.
‘“Primary education is the foundation of the education of children and should, therefore, be qualitative for them to have smooth progress in their educational career.
“A major step to achieving this goal is to promote high quality education, which is rare in rural areas,’’ he said.
Mr Abdulazeez Momoh, who represented the Otaru of Auchi and received the materials on behalf of the schools in Etsako West, thanked the bank for its gesture.
Momoh assured the bank that the materials would be distributed to all schools in the area.
