Amaechi Mourns Oldest Woman
Governor Chibuike Amaechi has condoled with the family of Madam Emily Amadi who passed on recently in Rumudoko Community in Mile 2 Diobu of Port Harcourt.
Until her death, Madam Amadi is believed to be the oldest woman in the community, as she passed away at the age of 115years.
Rt. Hon. Amaechi who visited the home on Wednesday in Port Harcourt described the late Madam Amadi as a history maker,” it is a history both you and your siblings will be proud to have a mother who lived to 115 years’’.
The governor thanked God for the good life she lived, emphasizing that her death was a celebration of life and prayed for the family to be strong now their matriarch was no more.
He however assured the family of government support, promising them of participation to ensure a stately burial for their late mum.
Earlier, one of the sons of Madam Amadi, Boniface Kinikanwo Amadi said their mum had been a history maker since from her early years, recalling that her elder sons were the first Ikwerres to attend secondary school in Port Harcourt.
He recalled that one of mama’s sons called Umezuirike was a pioneer student of Enitonia High School then at Moore House, who was adopted by the late Sir Harcourt and enlisted into school.
Mr Amadi expressed happiness for the governor’s condolence visit recalling that his late mother never visited a hospital or had any medical problems until she passed away.
“ Mama for the past 50 years or so has not visited the doctor, no hospital, no check up…We thank God for everything and for the life she lived ‘’Amadi stated.
