Imo Assures Of Security In Re-run Election
Imo Government has assured of adequate security in the state House of Assembly re-run election scheduled for Saturday in Oguta Local Government Area.
Gov. Rochas Okorocha gave the assurance in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Chinedu Ofor, on Tuesday in Owerri.
It urged eligible voters from the area not to engage in electoral malpractice, but to observe all the rules as stipulated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the election.
The statement also urged contestants to observe all the rules and disassociate themselves from activities that could breach the peace in the area.
It said that youths should desist from being used as political thugs, rather they should protect their votes at their various polling units peacefully.
