Commissioner Hails Fed High Court In Warri
The Delta State Commissioner for Justice, Mr Charles Ajuyah, has described the establishment of a Federal High Court in Warri as a historic event.
Speaking at the maiden sitting of the new division Federal High Court on Wednesday in Warri, Ajuyah said that the court would handle numerous cases from the zone.
He said that the new court would reduce the burden of travelling to Asaba and Benin for cases from the zone.
Ajuyah commended members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) who had agitated for the court to be established in Warri, and also commended the Federal Government for approving the establishment of the court in Warri.
According to him, the establishment of the court “is a dream come true’’.
The commissioner assured that the state government would provide adequate security for the operation of the court.
Ajuyah appealed to the NBA to cooperate with the court to ensure a hitch-free take off of the court.
The presiding Judge of the Court, Justice Mohammed Abubakar said that the new Federal High Court would help in reducing the number of cases in the zone and bring justice nearer to the people.
Abubakar assured the people that the court would meet their expectations and warned that the court would not entertain unnecessary adjournments.
