Keshi, Odemwingie Meet To Resolve Face Off
Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has met with forward Osaze
Odemwingie on Monday as both men look to bury the hatchet.
The striker flew into Abuja to meet with Keshi and NFF
bigwigs as part of a reconciliation process initiated from the capital.
Odemwingie has not played for Nigeria since Keshi took over
about 10 months ago.
Initially, the West Brom striker was ruled out due to
injury, and then excluded as Keshi built up a growing stock of players from the
domestic league. In the build up to last Month’s qualifier against Liberia,
Keshi disclosed that the forward was left out because he did not return calls.
A flurry of telephone calls between Nigeria Football
Federation (NFF) president Aminu Maigari between Keshi and Odemwingie led to
the issue being brought to the table, and Odemwingie was in Lagos to meet with
Keshi to draw a line under the matter.
