TIMA-RIV Cautions Motorists On Safety
As the rains set in, the Rivers State Road Traffic Management Authority (TIMARIV), has advised motorists to be cautious while driving.
The Head, Media and Public Enlightenment Unit of the authority, Sir Victor Iyalla who dropped the hint in a chat with The Tide in Port Harcourt also said they should ensure that their vehicle brakes, lights, wipers and tyres were in good condition before embarking on any journey.
He reiterated that officials of the authority were ever ready to provide the desirable standard in traffic control management in Port Harcourt, and noted that their prayer for all road users this year is safe driving and less traffic hold-ups.
According to him, “it is of essence that the motoring public adheres strictly to simple road engagement rules, noting that compliance would enhance better service delivery, adding “This year, you and TIMARIV will work truly as stakeholders”.
Sir Iyalla said all hands should be on deck to reduce terrible hold-ups and blockages on the road, enjoining the motorists to co-operate with the officials and obey all traffic rules and regulations.
The TIMARIV spokesman also charged motorists that with their co-operation, Port Harcourt would have less challenges in the management and control of traffic.
He cautioned them against reckless driving, over-speeding, parking at unauthorised places, disobeying traffic lights, driving without seat-belt and driving against the traffic.
