My Appointment, New Face Of Nigeria– Chienye
The newly appointed Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Rivers State, Mr Chukwuma Chienye, an indigene of Delta State, has described his appointment as the new face of Nigeria.
Mr Chienye who stated this while addressing the heads of Department and Units in the Ministry said that the State Governor Rt Hon. Chibuike Amaechi used his appointment into his cabinet to make a bold statement that all hope was not lost for Nigeria, noting that his coming on board the State cabinet was a clear demonstration of Governor Amacchi’s sincere sense of patriotism and nationalism.
According to the Commerce and Industry boss, “1 see in my appointment the emergence of a truly one Nigerian nation devoid of ethnic rivalries and rancour, where people from so-called different ethnic backgrounds can he given opportunity to serve the people of a State other than theirs, Nigerians and indeed humanity without fear or favour”.
Mr Chienye expressed appreciation to the government and people of the State for the chance to serve, saying that he would not misplace nor abuse the confidence reposed in him.
He called on the other State Governors to emulate the exemplary leadership quality and style of Governor Chibuike Amaechi whom he noted has shown so much selflessness in leadership just for the purpose of repositioning the State and changing what he described as the primordial stereotypes that have brought so much frustration and underdevelopment to Nigeria and Nigerians.
He enjoined the management of the Ministry to always see him as truly one of their own, saying that he is a team player who has at all times believed in the team spirit to make progress and bring about development in whatever capacity he is assigned a role.
Mr. Chienye expressed gratitude to them for the warm reception accorded him on assumption of duty in the Ministry and appealed that it be sustained.
