In his valedictory speech, Mr. Ukoima Kelvin who was adjudged the best over all graduating student in Electrical Engineering said the institution should employ ways of curbing examination malpractices and other social vices to ensure that the products of the school hold their heads high.
Mr Kelvin therefore, called on the university authority to engage more qualified teaching and non-teaching staff if the university is to meet its 21st century standards.
He advised graduands to go to the society with the philosophy of the institution by exhibiting excellence and creativity in their future endeavours, while urging the government to consistently give bursary and scholarship awards to indigent students.
According to him, “As graduates, we must learn to take responsibilities for our actions in the society.” As this chapter of our lives comes to a close, we have learnt something from the past and we will have a say in how the world would be in the future.
He thanked the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Barineme Fakae, for his initiatives in the university while acknowledging his lecturers for their guidance and support.
