College Upgrades To Tertiary Institution Soon
The authorities of Queenie of American International College Port Harcourt Rivers State, says it has concluded plans to upgrade the college to tertiary institution having achieved tremendous at secondary school level.
The principal of the college, Mr Peters Okoro, disclosed this in Port Harcourt, last Saturday during the graduation-7th anniversary celebration of the school.
Mr Okoro explained that the school at present has junior secondary, primary and the nursery classes adding that the next level of development would be to upgrade the college to the tertiary institution.
He said that school within its seven years of existence has achieved greatly in the area of child mental/physical development.
Commenting on Information and Communication Technology, he disclosed that the school has qualified teachers on ICT and computer, which has helped the students to master ICT fast.
Also speaking, the head teacher, said that the school has won awards in Mathematics, English Language, due to quality of teachers in such subjects in the school.
Earlier, the president founder of the college, Mrs Theodora Q. Otutu, had charged the students on the need to always believe in themselves rather than looking for external help which she attributed to cause examination malpractices in some schools.
She was confident that the graduands would be good ambassadors of the school in all spheres of their future endeavours.
“I leave you with this pinal note, always believe in yourself! No matter what anyone tells you, know that you can do all things if you are determined enough”, she said.
While stressing the need for teachers, parents and school authorities to collaborate in the task of ensuring quality education system in the state, she congratulated the 30 graduands of the college and admonished them to always remain good ambassadors of the school.
