21 Orphans Get Scholarship
A Non-Government Orgnnisation in Rivers State, Lucky Worlu Foundation, says it has awarded scholarship to 21 orphans in Emohua Local Government Area to study in Nigerian Universities.
The Executive Director of the foundation, Hon Lucky Worlu who disclosed this at a thanksgiving service at the St John’s Anglican Church, Ndele to appreciate God for saving the life of his brother after 23 years of sickness said the gesture would address the educational needs of the awardees.
He stated that 14 of the beneficiaries were drawn from 14 communities in the area while seven were from Ndele Community.
Describing the scholarship as his special way of giving back to the society, Hon Worlu announced that each of the awardees would be given N50,000, stressing that the scheme would be an annual event.
According to him, the foundation also carried out several programmes for widows including donation of cash to assist widows in Ndele and other communities in the local government area.
Hon. Worlu who is a permanent board member I, Rivers State Universal Basic Education (RSUBED) used the occasion to thank the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for the opportunity to serve at the board.
In his sermon, venerable E.C.E Ojirika urged those in position of Authority to always identify with the less-privileged in the society.
Venerable Ojirika thanked Hon. Worlu for not only identifying with the less privileged in the area, but also building a befitting personage for the church.
