Firms Partner On Tourism Dev
The French Alliance and the Big Beat Venture Nigeria Limited are partnering to promote culture, tourism and entertainment industry in Nigeria.
Chairman and Executive Officer of Big Beat Ventures Mr. Opusi Foster Inengite told reporters recently in Port Harcourt that the agreement includes an exchange programme with the French company aimed at promoting enertainment.
Mr. Inengite noted that the programme would first commence in the Niger-Delta area, where he said a lot of culture and tourism activities remain hugely untapped.
Aside business activities he stated that the collaboration would involve community development programmes, decrying the poverty and lack of development in the region.
In order to kick-start a local economy that would promote the huge natural resources that abound in the area.
He hinted of plans by the company to organize a Trade Fair on textiles materials produced in the country.
Other programmes aimed at boosting the local economy, he enumerated include a music talent hunt that would promote youths creativity and reduce militancy.
Big Beat CEO spoke of the need for youths to engage their talents in money yielding ventures, but decried that the company was being challenged by poor funding and patronage.
Mr. Inengite, while calling on public spirited individuals and companies to invest in business activities that would transform the lives of the local people, claimed that it has already promoted about three artistes in the region.

Technology Key to Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Development, Says Computer Scientist
Dr. Legborsi Emmanuel, former state Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), has emphasized that technology is the sure way for Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
He made this assertion while speaking with newsmen at the sideline of 118th inaugural lecture series of Rivers State University (RSU) held in port Harcourt, wednesday.
He stressed that the lecture, which focused on emerging technology and its impact on the socio-economic development of the country, aligns with the NCS’s economic focus.
He highlighted the importance of building an economy driven by technology, citing the success of the Rivers State Smart Economy policy as an example.
The computer scientist emphasized the need for innovation and doing things differently, asserting that “technology is the only way out” for Nigeria’s development. He praised the lecturer, Professor Mathias Daniel, for exploring the applications of technology in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, transport, and socio-economics.
Dr. Emmanuel underscores the critical role technology plays in driving socio-economic growth and development in Nigeria by leveraging technology, the country can unlock new opportunities and address pressing challenges.
