Voter’s Card, Ticket For Rivers Free Education – Amaechi
Parents who want their wards to enjoy the Rivers State free education would have to tender their voters registration cards, Governor Chibuike Amaechi has said.
Speaking during a special campaign visit to Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, recently, the Rivers State Governor said the possession of a voter’s registration card would enable residents to enjoy free medical healthcare as well.
Governor Amaechi while calling on the people to come out massively to participate in the exercise said that the time had come for the people to choose credible leaders.
He decried the apathy displayed by the people towards elections, noting that without exercising their franchise, it would be difficult to remove poor performing politicians and leaders.
The governor who called on the people of Opobo/Nkoro to support his second outing promised to build two more new health centres and expand the sand-filling project in the area.
He, however, assured the people of the local government area of the readiness of his administration to complete the Opobo/Andoni/Ogoni Unity Road. He was hopeful that before the end of the year, the people of Opobo would drive to their home town through the road.
He also promised to provide potable drinking water following cases of Cholera outbreak and other forms of water-borne diseases.
Earlier in his speech, co-ordinator of the Amaechi campaign team in the area, Mr Atonyesia Dim Peterside described the governor as a son of the kingdom.
He assured the governor of the people’s total support to his administration, saying, the local government area had benefited immensely from projects initiated by the administration.
The same view was expressed by Amaopusenibo Dandison Bupo, who described the governor as the best brand to sell to the electorate following his achievements so far.
Bupo urged the people to ensure that they partake in the voters registration exercise, emphasizing that the exercise was not for politicians alone but for everybody.
