Toby Blames Politicians On Nigeria’s Woes
The District Governor of Rotary International District 9140, Nigeria, Dr. G.T.G. Toby has blamed public officers for the country’s underdevelopment.
Dr. Toby, former Deputy Governor of Rivers State statd this at a corktail organized in his honor by Zone 4 and 22 of Rotary in Port Harcourt, Sunday.
The DG expressed regrets that politicians with unknown pedigree amassed wealth at the expense of the nation.
He condemned political office holders for raping the nation of its resources and described a situation where individuals had become richer than the nation as pathetic.
He said Rotary was going to mount bill boards with intention of sensitising Nigerians on the four-way test.
In a related development, the District Governor of Rotary International District 9140, Dr. G.T.G. Toby has lauded the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt, GRA, for their humanitarian efforts.
Dr. Toby, who commissioned the eye test of school pupils at Army Children School at GRA, Port Harcourt, Wednesday, thanked the club for identifying with the needy.
Speaking earlier, the club president Prof. Winton Bell-Gam noted that the eye test and the handover of free eye glasses to indigent students were in collaboration with the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
