Failure Is Temporary Hitch, Church Leader Tells Clerics
Christian faithfuls have been told to see failure as only a temporary hitch and a stepping-stone to a fulfilled vision for a committed person.
Speaking recently, at a one day orientation for leaders and co-ordinators of sections and departments in Rivers District of Assemblies of God Nigeria, Rev. (Dr) Daddy D.S. Ibulubo challenged clerics never to give in to the pressure of a temporarily stunted vision.
Rev. (Dr) Ibulubo who is the District Superintendent of Rivers District, Assemblies of God Nigeria decried a situation where Christian faithfuls failed to actualise their goal on the ground of uncomplimentary factors.
Reminding the clerics that those who quit in the face of surmmountable challenges never win, the District Superintendent urged them to leave behind a positive legacy that would speak for them.
“As a leader in various capacity, you should desire to be different because one of the greatest compliment any man will give to you is to say that ‘you are different’, the man of God philosophised.
He urged Christians to de-emphasise complaining and buck-passing and rather evolve means of redressing adverse situation, noting that the Christian is endowed with such potentials to solve problem.
The youthful but visionary Superintendent who was full of optimism that the contemporary cleric is better placed to excel in the ministry if the right frame of mind is cultivated stated that successful people are those who were dogged in their aspiration, the odds not withstanding.
Orientation, the Rev. (Dr) Ibulubo said it was necessary because of the multi-dimensional challenges a dynamic society posed to every sector of life and urged the clerics to harness all available resources within their jurisdiction and bring their potentials to bear for a resounding success.
In a paper presentation titled, “Adding Value to the Work”, a Presbyter of the Rivers District of Assemblies of God, Nigeria, the Rev. B.A.C. Akaninwo noted that leadership is defined by environment, the times and character of the leaders.
The Rev. Akaninwo however stated that character was an over-riding pre-requisite for success in a challenging times and an uncomplimentary environment.
