Group Hails Jonathan
The state co-ordinator of Izon National Female Congress of Nigeria, also known as Niger Delta Oil Producing Communities Women Development Organ, Mrs Abiye Comfort Nisakpo has hailed Dr Goodluck Jonathan on his assumption of office as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Mrs Nisakpo in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt said they are proud that a son of the soil had attained that height and enjoined him to be focused and be courageous, put smiles on the faces of Niger Delta people, by ensuring that the seven point agenda of his predecessor, late Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar-Adua is fully implemented.
The Group assured him and Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as well as all local government chairmen of their loyalty and support, enjoining them to consider the group in their programmes.
Members of the executive recently elected include Janet Moses Nwokogba – Asst State Co-ordinator, Eruom Meshack Osaighi, secretary; Omasirichi Achor, Asst Secretary; Joy Asisigha Ebeni, treasurer and Joy Akiri, Asst treasurer.
Others are Fayesoma Okiakpe, financial secretary; Peace Ngulube, Asst financial secretary; Lady Tina Esuku, provost Awoere Harry, Asst Provost; Esther Goba Michael, PRO and Patience Ada Adiele, Asst PRO.
The rest are Christina Fubara, prayer leader; Kenigheni Igey Godson, Asst prayer leader, Roseline Wobiri, state mother; Patience Nene George, Asst sate mother; and Ngonabo Ebeni, publicity secretary.
They include Gift Kenneth Wifa, Asst publicity secretary; Comfort George, organising secretary; Helen Ebenezer, Asst org. secretary, while Nimi Sunday Kirika and Priscilla Njoku are ex-officio members.
Members of the organisation were drawn from the various local government areas of the state.
The group is aimed at fostering and championing the course of women in the Niger Delta and Nigeria in general.
