Perm Sec Hails NGO, RSG’s Partnership To Fight Street Trading
Following the war against illegal street trading and motor parks instituted by Governor Nyesom Wike-led government to provide an enabling environment for the people, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, has commended the support of the people towards the actualisation of the order, especially among non-indigenes residing in the state.
Nsirim gave the commendation yesterday in Port Harcourt while sensitising a group under the aegis of Non-Indigenes Without Borders (NIWB) on the need to support the governor in his quest to reposition the state for greater development perspective.
He admonished members of the group to ensure that they queue behind Governor Wike in his effort to bring better development through the creation of an enabling environment to do business, stressing that Rivers State remains the safest in the country.
He stressed that for the governor to provide lasting infrastructure for the growth of Rivers State, all and sundry must ensur they contribute towards the actualisation of such a cause, and urged the people to say No to insecurity and crime, as no state or nation can grow in an atmosphere of insecurity and criminality.
According to him, “Rivers State is blessed with good leaders, especially Governor Nyesom Wike, who is able to provide multiple infrastructures for both the indigenes and non-indigenes in the state.”
In his words, “With the multiple industries, modern and standard infrastructures across the 23 local government areas, Rivers State has been acclaimed the business hub of Nigeria,” noting that a state that has these development and business potentials should not be allowed to collapse but rather should be strengthened.
