The Tide NUJ Honours Retiring Members, Today
All is set for the send-off ceremony of retired journalists of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of The Tide Newspapers in Port Harcourt, today.
About five former staff, including Patterson Koko, Canice Amadi, Julie Jumbo, Jemina Amachree and Thomas Abbey, will be honored at the ceremony.
The event, which is being organized by Nigeria Union of Journalists, The Tide Chapel, has the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ms Kadilo Brown, as Chairman while the general manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Mr. Celestine Ogolo, and NUJ Chairman, Rivers State Council, Mr. Opaka Dokubo are expected to be special guest and guest of honour, respectively.
The ceremony would also feature seminar presentation with the Theme: “Life Before And After retirement” by resource persons drawn from Allco Pension Managers Limited, federal Mortgage bank of Nigeria, and Head of Service office.
A statement jointly signed by the Chairman of NUJ, The Tide Chapel, Mr. Felix Okogbule, and Chairman, organizing Committee, Mr. Arnold Alalibo, urged staff of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation to attend.
Describing the event as the first of its kind in the establishment, the statement assured that everything n has been put in place to make the ceremony a huge success.
It further disclosed that the event would hold in the Boardroom of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Port Harcourt by 10am.
