Enugu Inaugurates Committees For State FA Elections
Two committees have been inaugurated at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, to handle elections into Enugu State Football Association.
The committees are the electoral and election petitions committees.
The three-man Electoral Committee has Emeka Asogwa as Chairman, while F.S. Ugwu will serve as Secretary and Dr Wen Udoji would be a member.
The Election Petitions Committee has Chinedu Iloeje as Chairman, Edwin Eze as Secretary and Z.O. Nwobodo as a member.
The committees were formally inaugurated by Stephen Oruruo, Chairman, Board of Enugu State Sports Council.
While providing them the electoral guidelines for the smooth conduct of the polls he also enjoined them to run free and fair elections,
The electoral committee chairman, Asogwa, said he would conduct transparent, free and fair elections, such that the petitions committee would have virtually no work to do.
“Indeed it will be such that Prof Attahiru Jega of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would envy my committee.
“We will work within the limited time-frame so that a new board will emerge to attend the Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Nigeria Football Association to be held on Dec. 28 at Uyo.’’ Asogwa added that the committees at the end of their inaugural meeting would unveil a programme for a successful conduct of the elections.
