Monarchs Condemn Kidnap Of Police Officers
The Andoni Area Traditional Rulers Council has condemned the recent kidnap of two police officers in Andoni by sea pirates.
Chairman of the council, King Aaron Miller Ikuru, who spoke on behalf of the monarchs made the condemnation at a press briefing in Port Harcourt, describing the incident as criminal.
The monarchs called on the pirates to immediately release the police officers and the civilians in their custody.
They also described the act as detrimental to the development of the area, and called on the perpetrators to release them urgently and unconditionally.
“The abduction is sad and unfortunate. Such act is barbaric and a crime against humanity”, he said.
They also called on the State Government to make the presence of Operation Sting to be felt in Andoni communities.
King Aaron, who is also the Okaan Ama of Ikuru Town, called on the Council to immediately reactivate internal security in Andoni.
It would be recalled that last Tuesday suspected pirates kidnapped two police officers and a civilian on the Ngo river. Their whereabout is yet unknown.
