Ex-Agitator Sues For Peace In Ogoniland
An ex-Niger Delta agitator, Chief Solomon Ndigbara has promised to redouble his effort to promote peace in Ogoniland.
Chief Ndigbara, who is also a Justice of the Peace (JP) said this during a courtesy call on him by Solo Peace Movement, a non-governmental organisation in the Niger Delta.
The Ambassador of Peace who expressed zero tolerance to criminality, cultism and any form of violence also said that he was open for collaboration with the security agencies, legitimate organisations as well as well- meaning individuals in ensuring a safe society for development to thrive.
He commended the movement for acknowledging his effort in promoting peace not only in Ogoni but across the Niger Delta.
Earlier, the Solo Movement led by its President, Comrade Neebee Steve, lauded the numerous lofty efforts by Chief Ndigbara to promote peace in the Niger Delta.
Comrade Steve, whose group focuses on the promotion of unity and development in Ogoniland also said that the ex-agitator’s effort has led to the rapid development of Ogoniland.
They used the occasion to distribute free copies of 80 leaves exercise books with the inscription, “Chief Ndigbara Menesirabarabatera 1 of Ogoniland” to students of Community Secondary School Bua Yeghe in Gokana Local Government Area.
In another development, the Students Union Government of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has pledged to seek the support of the Ogoni High Chief on their forthcoming programme titled: “Stand Against Rape and Domestic Violence”.
