Amiesimaka Berates Sharks Over Poor Mgt
Chairman of the committee on the re-organisation of Rivers State government owned Football Clubs, Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka has said that Dolphins FC is better organised than any of the clubs in the state.
He stated that Sharks is being managed unprofessionally, because most of the players does not have contractual agreement with the club.
Chief Amiesimaka said this during the town hall meeting organised by the committee , on Monday, at the Alfred Dieta-Spiff Sports Complex (VIP Hall), in Port Harcourt, adding that the Coach of Sharks does not even know players signed by the management.
Following the poor performance of both Sharks and Dolphins that eventually caused Sharks to relegation (low division) the State government set-up six man committee saddled with the responsibility of producing blue-print geared towards re-organising the teams to yield better result.
Also speaking at the event, Chairman Rivers State Football Association (RSFA) and member Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board, Barrister Christopher Green, said it is imperative to take stock of both teams, saying that would reduce the wage bill of the clubs.
“In my opinion it will not be possible for Sharks to own and manage the properties in this civil centre and Dolphins also manage Liberation Stadium, because these properties are been controlled by stadium authority established by law.
I also think there is need to carry out proper stock taking for us to know the actual amount government is owing the clubs”, Barrister Green said.
According to him, the issue of boys (popularly known as area boys) disturbing the clubs is caused poor management.
“I will attribute the issue of “Area Boys” to poor management, because they are given their opportunity to disturb them”, he stated.
