NIMASA Reassures On Safer Territorial Waters
The Acting Director
General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Haruna Jauro, has reiterated the agency’s commitment towards stamping out criminal activities within Nigeria’s territorial waters.
Jauro, at a public function in Lagos recently, said “NIMASA had committed itself to ensuring the success of the working agreements with the Nigerian Military in order to keep the Nigerian Maritime environment safe from criminal activities.
He commended the Nigerian Military for their commitment in the war against insurgency and enjoined them not to relent until the fight is over.
The Director General of NIMASA hinted that the agency would strive to ensure that illegal maritime activities become a thing of the past, and called for the collaboration of all to achieve set goals.
He commended the Federal Government in the fight against corruption and promised to reposition the outfit to carry out its statutory duties to the nation.
Jauro also sued for peace in the country, saying that peace is needed for every activity to succeed, saying “we raise our thumbs up for our military seeing what is happening. And we want to say ‘kudos’ to you.”
It would be recalled that NIMASA recently renewed its preparedness to ensure the continued workability of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Navy in a bid to ensure security and safety on our waterways.
