Nasarawa NDE Plans N3m Empowerment Fund For Youths

ate of Employment (NDE) in Nasarawa State is to disburse N3 million to 300 unemployed youths under its Special Micro Empowerment Scheme.
The State Coordinator of NDE, Mr Monday Dalyop, told newsmen recently in Lafia,that the intervention was part of measures to reduce poverty among the people.
He said the agency introduced the scheme to create jobs for unemployed youths, the unskilled, semi-skilled and vulnerable persons in the society.
“The Federal Government established the scheme to address unemployment among youths in an effort to reduce crimes,’’ he said.
Dalyop said NDE was committed to the training of people especially the youth and women in different skills to make them self-reliant and also contribute their quota to national development.
“The scheme is also to empower the disadvantaged groups and the vulnerable financially so that they can contribute their quota to the growth of the economy.”
Dalyop said officers had been deployed in the three senatorial districts of the state to ensure the success of the exercise.
He called on the people to embrace peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious differences and political affiliations for the overall development of the state and the country.
