Firm To Test-Run Scanner At Seme Border
An indigenous destination inspection service provider, Global Scan systems Limited has said it will start test-running the fixed scanner at Seme border post by April.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Fred Udechukwu, made this known to members of the Senate Committee on Finance during their visit to the site on Tuesday.
Udechukwu said that work was fast in progress to test-run the facility, which had two generating sets as back-up.
He said that the mobile scanner had been in operation since 2006 and had served as a stop-gap, until the identification of a suitable site for the fixed scanner.
The committee members commended the progress of work at the ongoing installation of the multi-million naira fixed scanner site at the border by Global Scan Systems.
The Chairman of the committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, said the committee was impressed with what was seen.
